One major way a local community group or not for profit organisation can grow quickly is via a asset transfer from local authorities, parish councils, NHS bodies, a housing association or another charity. They sometimes do this when reassessing their asset portfolio, priorities, finances or simply recognising that services can be delivered by another providor. This is sometimes undertaken with/without relevant staff delivering services or under TUPE (see below).
