Community Empowerment

In the UK one of the major challenges local communities face today is to obtain the necessary support and assistance which helps them address a wide range of often inter-related local issues on housing, health, social care, education,skills & training, welfare or environmental issues. Communities often need help with issues around Governance, Management , Fundraising , Employment, Property and Staffing in order to devise sustainable cost effective responses. Beyond that communities also often need practicable help which helps them deliver the quality and performance that improves peoples lives.

At Cara Community Services we seek to build such local social capital by practical assistance with knowledge transfers and improving access to new resources. We have a wide range of experts available and willing to help you achieve these local ambitions. We believe that by supporting local communities we can help create a fairer and better society which benefits our own and future generations.

We believe that Community Enpowerment is one vehicle that unlocks the potential of local communities to help themselves. We have developed a range of new initiatives which may well be applicable to your area. We are happy to work with local groups from earliest stage of formulating your idea up to practicable delivery. We can also assist with local research or help devise a  Community Enterprise which can take many forms but primarily involves some trading activity in which the profit is re-cycled or re-invested back into the local community.

We believe that change occurs via `Community Champions` or `Agents of Social Change` These are either individuals or groups of people who decide that the world can be changed by local action which brings benefits to local people.
